the main edifice @ site built red sandstone, , decorated white marble inlay. prayer chamber has central arched niche 5 niches flanking 1 third size of central niche. mosque has 3 marble domes, largest of located in centre of mosque, , flanked 2 smaller domes.


both interior , exterior of mosque decorated elaborate white marble carved floral design common mughal art. carvings @ badshahi mosque considered uniquely fine , unsurpassed works of mughal architecture. chambers on each side of main chamber contains rooms used religious instruction. mosque can accommodate 10,000 worshippers in prayer hall.
