the viking left london @ 13:29 on estimated 2 , half-hour charter flight. between 16:24 , 16:30 crashed 18 nautical miles north-east of airport on holteheia, steep mountainside @ elevation of 1600 feet. crash site 30 feet below summit.


the aircraft destroyed , intense fuel , oil fire followed impact. search aircraft included raf shackleton , royal norwegian navy ships investigating fjords in area. wreckage found fifteen hours after crash royal norwegian air force helicopter, 15 miles east ils track.
