History Haresfield railway station

the station opened on 29 may 1854 on bristol , gloucester railway when railway, had opened in 1844, being converted broad gauge standard gauge used new owner, midland railway.


haresfield served midland railway tracks: although great western railway s swindon gloucester services passed on parallel tracks east of midland lines, gwr did not build station , passengers on rather narrow platforms @ haresfield screened passing gwr trains wooden barriers.


haresfield never provided freight facilities , closed passenger services on 4 january 1965 along other stations on bristol gloucester line. today, 4 tracks (two midland , 2 gwr) have been realigned , trace of station has been obliterated.
