at 6:55 pst (7:55 mst), man reported seeing v-shaped object above henderson, nevada. said size of 747 , sounded rushing wind , , had 6 lights on leading edge. lights reportedly traversed northwest southeast.

an unidentified former police officer paulden, arizona claimed have been next person report sighting after leaving house @ 9:15 mst. driving north, allegedly saw cluster of reddish or orange lights in sky, comprising 4 lights , fifth light trailing them. each of individual lights in formation appeared witness consist of 2 separate point sources of orange light. returned home , through binoculars watched lights until disappeared south on horizon.

lights reportedly seen in areas of prescott , prescott valley. @ approximately 8:17 mst, callers began reporting object solid, because blocked out of starry sky passed over.

first sighting phoenix

tim ley, wife bobbi, son hal, , grandson damien turnidge first saw lights when above prescott valley 65 miles (100 km) away them. @ first appeared them 5 separate , distinct lights in arc-shape on top of balloon, realized lights appeared moving towards them. on next ten or minutes appeared coming closer , distance between lights increased , took on shape of upside down v. when lights appeared couple of miles away witnesses make out shape looked 60-degree carpenter s square 5 lights set it, 1 @ front , 2 on each side. object embedded lights appeared coming right down street lived 100 150 feet (30 45 meters) above them, traveling appeared hover , silent. object seemed pass on heads , went through v opening in peaks of mountain range towards piestewa peak , toward direction of phoenix sky harbor international airport. witnesses in glendale, suburb northwest of phoenix, saw object pass overhead @ altitude high enough become obscured thin clouds; @ approximately between 20:30 , 20:45 mst.

arriving in phoenix

when triangular formation entered phoenix area, bill greiner, cement driver hauling load down mountain north of phoenix, described second group of lights: ll never same. before this, if had told me saw ufo, ve said, yeah , believe in tooth fairy. ve got whole new view , may dumb truck driver, ve seen don t belong here. greiner stated lights hovered on area more 2 hours.

reappearance in 2007

a repeat of lights occurred february 6, 2007, , recorded local fox news television station. according military officials , federal aviation administration, these flares dropped f-16 aircraft training @ luke air force base.

reappearance in 2008

on april 21, 2008, lights again reported on north phoenix local residents. according witnesses, lights formed vertical line, spread apart , made diamond shape. lights formed u-shape @ 1 time.

tony toporek recorded video of lights. talking neighbors @ 8 p.m. when lights appeared. grabbed camera lights on video. valley resident reported shortly after lights appeared, 3 jets seen heading west in direction of lights. official luke air force base denied united states air force activity in area. on april 22, 2008, resident of phoenix told newspaper lights nothing more neighbor releasing helium balloons flares attached. following day phoenix resident declined identified in news reports stated had attached flares helium balloons , released them yard.
