the gurukula system of education has been in existence since ancient times. upanishads mention multiple gurukul s, including of guru drona @ gurgaon. bhrigu valli (a discourse on brahman) said have taken place in guru varuni s gurukula. vedic school of thought prescribes upanayana (sacred rite of passage) individuals before age of 8 @ least 12. initiation until age of 25 individuals prescribed students , remain unmarried, celibate.


the gurukula s supported public donations. followed many following vedic thoughts making gurukula 1 of earliest forms of public school centres.
