the 6,000 acre (24 km²) lake centerpiece of lake thunderbird state park. in addition water activities park offers hunting, horse rental , boarding, equestrian trails, hiking, mountain biking, nature trails, nature center, , archery range. park has 447 primitive campsites , unfurnished one-room lake huts rv provisions. park near 2 casinos , has own restaurant, clear bay cafe, open seasonally , accessible boat or car. during late spring rains in 2015 during months of may , june, lake thunderbird flooded , restaurant badly damaged closed indefinitely. on may 10, 2010 little river marina struck tornado , closed until rebuilt in 2012.
