although yet proven, insulin potentiation therapy (ipt) proponents suggest insulin modifies cancer cells receptivity being penetrated chemotherapy. cancer cells secrete own insulin , insulin-like growth factor (igf) work consume body s nutrients grow cancer. cancer cell membranes have sixteen times more insulin , igf receptors normal cells, , these receptors react synthetic insulin. when insulin administered, cancer starves glucose , generates enzyme activity makes cell membrane more permeable. chemotherapy drug gets absorbed cancer. using same mechanisms cancer cells use grow , kill people, proponents believe ipt channels chemotherapy drug directly inside cancer cells leaving normal cells alone.


insulin therapy not same ipt low-dose chemotherapy. insulin on own modulates transportation of nutrients , more throughout body. there have been several attempts use insulin in variety functions have proven ill-advised.


in biological cancer therapies, insulin potentiation therapy can used administer mandelonitrile (b17) pre step ipt low-dose chemotherapy.
