the holiday period ends on january 6 celebration of epiphany (jour des rois). traditional type of flat pastry cake, la galette des rois, made of 2 sheets of puff pastry, filled frangipane (almond paste) eaten. cake contains fève, small china doll; whomever finds becomes king or queen , gets wear gold paper crown , choose or partner. tradition can last 2 weeks.
