Personal life Magnus Malan

malan s father professor of biochemistry @ university of pretoria , later member of parliament (1948–1966) , deputy speaker , chairman of committees (1961–1966) of house of assembly. started high school education @ afrikaanse hoër seunskool later moved dr danie craven’s physical education brigade in kimberley, completed matriculation. wanted join south african armed forces after matric, father advised him first complete university studies. result of advice, malan enrolled @ university of stellenbosch in 1949 study bachelor of commerce degree. however, later abandoned studies in stellenbosch , went university of pretoria, enrolled b.sc. mil. degree. graduated in 1953.

in 1962 malan married magrietha johanna van der walt; couple had 2 sons , 1 daughter.
