on january 15, 2012, masterpiece won best original song category @ 69th golden globe awards. nomination sparked rivalrous comments on red carpet fellow singer elton john, song— hello, hello gnomeo & juliet—was nominated in category. john told host carson daly madonna hasn t got fucking chance of winning award. when madonna later had red carpet interview daly, took swipes @ john s masculinity first, asking wardrobe: wearing dress? , after being informed of comments stating, may best man win .


subsequent announcement, john s husband, david furnish, opined on personal facebook page madonna winning best original song shows how these awards have nothing merit . madonna commented backstage: hope [elton john] speaks me next couple of years. s been known mad @ me don t know. s brilliant , adore him ll win award. don t feel bad! 3 days later furnish recanted comments saying, passion our film gnomeo & juliet , belief in elton s song got emotional juices going, , continuing wishing on premiere of w.e.
