the agency divided directorates (direktionen), in turn subdivided offices (Ämter). further, dp operated production facilities construction of telecommunications, technical services radio , television, related institutes research, education, , learning.


the dp had own flag - german national flag, post horn in centre. colour postal services traditional yellow, while telecommunications grey, , radio , television technical services dark blue. postal uniforms modified several times, , worn in postal service, while in other services uniforms displayed special events.

assistants (unterassistent, assistent, oberassistent, hauptassistent: 1 stipe, 1 4 stars)
secretaries (untersekretär, sekretär, obersekretär, hauptsekretär: 2 stripes, 1 4 stars)
inspectors (inspektor, oberinspektor, amtmann: 3 stripes, 1 3 stars)
counsellors (rat, oberrat, hauptrat: 1 broad stripe, 1 3 stars oak leaves)
directors (direktor, oberdirektor, hauptdirektor: 2 broad stripes, 1 3 stars oak leaves)

the dp s civil servants trained @ directorate schools - @ engineering school rosa luxemburg in leipzig, , @ college traffic technology (hochschule für verkehrswesen) in dresden (depicted on mi #2587 above).
