2010: two-year-old start

dancing rain not promising racehorse during training , labeled hopeless trainer. improved late in season , first , start two-year-old occurred on 19 october @ yarmouth division 1 european breeders fund maiden fillies stakes. ridden michael hills , beaten 3.5 lengths filly annedah, owned ali saeed.


2011: three-year-old season

dancing rain won first start three-year-old in robert sangster memorial maiden fillies stakes on 15 april @ newbury racecourse. jockeyed kieren fallon gave uncompromising ride , pushed filly front win race 1 , quarter lengths highest. second in next start @ newbury fillies trial stakes on 13 may, losing head izzi top ridden dane o neill.


one month before dancing rain s start in oaks, filly broke leg of exercise rider , trainer s wife, maureen haggas (a daughter of lester piggot) while performing drills. dancing rain not favored win oaks, starting race 20-1 odds. ridden three-time derby winning jockey johnny murtagh used filly s imposing stride advantage fantastic ride dancing rain remained uncontested of race. won 3 quarters of length on wonder of wonders , eleven other horses.


dancing rain finished fifth in irish oaks on 17 july, leading race 3 furlongs finish line , weakening under relentless drive winning filly blue bunting , passed banimpire, wonder of wonders , laughing lashes. dancing rain became first british-trained winner of €400,000 preis der diana on 7 august in düsseldorf, , ridden kieren fallon, shot away rivals in straight win margin of 3 lengths. won again @ ascot in british champions fillies , mares stakes beating bible belt 2 lengths.


in final start of season, dancing rain ran in queen elizabeth ii commemorative cup in kyoto racecourse. few days before race, dancing rain developed heat in front legs treated ice baths. dancing rain never factor in race, finishing in 16th place, far behind snow fairy won race consecutive year.


2012: four-year-old season

dancing rain sustained ankle injury in spring of 2012 , engagement in coronation cup suspended. surgery performed in spring of 2012. dancing rain engaged yorkshire oaks, week before race haggas withdrew competition, stating, m afraid won t going york re not happy her. in first start of season, third in british champions fillies , mares stakes run @ ascot, losing 2 , 3 quarters lengths sapphire , shirocco star. on 9 december ridden johnny murtagh, dancing rain finished eighth out of 12 starters in hong kong vase won red cadeaux.
