vinoba observed life of average indian living in village , tried find solutions problems faced firm spiritual foundation. formed core of sarvodaya movement. example of bhoodan (land gift) movement started @ pochampally on 18 april 1951, after interacting 80 harijan families. walked across india asking people land consider him 1 of sons , give him 1 sixth of land distributed landless poor. non-violence , compassion being hallmark of philosophy, campaigned against slaughtering of cows.


vinoba said, have walked on india 13 years. in backdrop of enduring perpetuity of life s work, have established 6 ashrams.
