the pedestal of prešeren s statue made of pohorje tonalite , has 3 steps. above it, there cut rock block inscription prešeren . lighter base of muse made of tyrolian granite. made stonemanson alojzij vodnik per design max fabiani, based work on concept ivan zajec (sl). letter erection of monument , coins have been built pedestal.


there 2 bronze reliefs on lower part of pedestal, depicting scenes prešeren s poems. right one, titled farewell (slovo) or Črtomir , bogomila (Črtomir in bogomila), depicts scene poem baptism on savica. left one, titled fisherman (ribič), depicts scene poem fisherman. reliefs on pedestal created zajec. have classicist composition, realist cadre, impressionist final touch, , emphasise prešeren s romantic poetry content. upper part of pedestal decorated stylised lime tree, reminding of poet s homeland s symbol.
