2003–2006

the club became established in london leagues.


2006–2007

in season of 2006–07, highbury expanded become 2 team club including 4 australian s did highbury , australia proud participated in commonwealth & friends korfball tournament held in croydon during summer of 2006.


2007–2008

highbury mart huijbregts


in season of 2006–07, highbury expanded become 3 team club. ensure quality rose quantity, highbury travelled netherlands once again compete in outdoor tournament time took in couple of days participate in training camp run highbury s benefit mart huijbregts. highbury looked internally strengthen coaching staff base , subsidised attendance of 2 of members annual avon tyrell level 2 coaching qualification course.


2008–2009

in season of 2008-2009, highbury expanded become 4 team club. year eka disbanded national reserve , national division 1 leagues , introduced new regional league structure. highbury took place in new structure competing in newly formed south east regional league. first time, highbury brought in external full-time coach train elite squad; tamara burnell, national premiere league player bec kc , scottish representative given job included training players of highbury 2 competed in london 1st division.


highbury 3 swept aside opposition in london 3rd division losing 2 games, both single goal scheduling technicality lead game being forfeited , title slipping grasp. there no hard feelings though eventual winners of league, supernova 2, team not suffer defeat @ hands of highbury 3 head-to-head battles resulting in draw , single goal win supernova.


2009–2010

after winning summer tournament


during 2009-2010 season highbury welcomed news london form own region due restructuring of regional leagues. pre-season highbury looking new head coach , laurie swan, head coach on supernova kc, stepped in assist club player selection during month running season start while coach sought. before season under way, stuart ironmonger, national premier league player , coach successful history took role of head coach. highbury played in london regional league (lrl) , represented team in each of divisions 2, 3 , 4 of london korfball association (lka). highbury put in many performances , clinched proud second place in lrl behind winners bec 2. thus, achieving goal of beating croydon kc in single position awarded lrl in annual champions trophy (bec 2 ineligible bec playing in national league). while highbury didn t win promotion national league did show throughout champions trophy compete teams being promoted in top league in country.


meanwhile, in lka, highbury 4 regularly requiring field 2 players higher leagues form complete , legal team. while within rules of lka, lka committee decided withdraw highbury 4 league without notice.


2010–2011

andrew speck elected chair. club maintained 3 teams although there exodus of men regional league team moved out of london employment opportunities.


the 1st , 2nd teams finished mid table in london regional league , london league 2, highbury 3 won promotion london league 2 coming season.


2011–2012

ben hale took on chairman season. martin petrie (of supernova) provided coaching first , second teams moses hutchinson-pascal acting third team , development coach.


highbury 3 struggled in lka2, did finish outside of relegation places, decision made volunteer drop division give players better chance develop against skilled players.


highbury 2 again finished mid table 4th place improvement on prior season. rachel dixon topped girls scoring chart 30 goals in season.


highbury 1 finished fourth in lrl , qualified champions trophy 3 teams above them had teams in national league. julia hall finished top of scoring chart girls 31 fine goals in final full season @ highbury before moving new zealand @ end of 2012.


at champions trophy, highbury competed against best teams around country , came respectful 4th place wins on manchester warriors , bristol city.


2012–2013

simon mackie elected @ agm chairman season. andrew speck stepped coaching first , second teams fellow aussie ben hale taking on role of third team , development coach. club training @ old street during season.


highbury 3 came third in first season in lka3, many new players developing well.


highbury 2 finished in top 3 in lka too, several players stepping second team prior year s thirds showing highbury s knack developing new players.


highbury 1 finished 5th despite joanna faure walker finishing joint top scorer of girls , qualified again champions trophy second year in row. season sees record highbury win of 31–8 on mitcham, moses hutchinson-pascal getting triple hat trick.


at champions trophy highbury finish 5th despite beating eventual runners birmingham promoted national league.


2013–2014

joanna faure walker takes role of chair andrew speck continuing provide coaching squad.


the club moves 2 new venues in swiss cottage , stoke newington ahead of new season improve training facilities available squad , wider club.


good recruitment on summer means highbury 4 started again, playing friendly matches season in hope of entering team league year after.


the club recruited several new players both @ top level (including several portuguese , dutch players) , beginners. teams performed highbury 1 again qualifying champions trophy after finishing 4th in regional league, highbury 2 having best ever finish of 2nd in lka2 , highbury 3 , 4 improving in lka3.


at champions trophy highbury again finish 5th despite performances against best teams around country.


the club goes on tour lisbon, portugal led tiago almeida take part in 14th annual korfball tournament organised clube corfebol oeiras highbury finishing in 5th, 8th , 14th places.


2014–2015

rich hayward elected role of chair. andrew speck continues coach 1st , 2nd team squad whilst tiago almeida assumes position of head coach 3rd , 4th teams


the club continues train @ swiss cottage whilst squad move petchey academy in dalston in order enable weekly squad sessions able take place.


the summer sees of highbury s established members leave club pastures new outside of north london, strong summer of recruitment sees depth in squad enhanced. players join club on country nottingham norwich bringing experience in heighten competition places.


this year sees highbury 1 competing in newly formed england south , east promotional division against higher calibre of opposition place in champions trophy.


highbury 1 finish 4th in s&e promo league , 3rd in london regional league, highbury 2 finish 4th in lka 2 , highbury 3 & 4 play off 3rd place in lka 3 highbury 3 running out 7–4 winners.


2015–2016

rich hayward continues chair. steph allen (of trojans , england) becomes new squad coach.


the club trains in finsbury park on summer in order try attract more passing trade , promote club.


the club , squad both train , play matches in petchey academy in dalston season, marking first time club has played home games in north london years.


highbury 1 compete again london regional league , south & east promo league, whilst highbury 3 promoted lka division 2 alongside highbury 2. highbury 4 continue develop in lka division 3.


highbury 1 finish 3rd in promo league (despite excellent 16 - 8 win on promoted bearsted) , 4th in regional league, result given new coach , whole host of new players in squad.


highbury 2 finished 3rd in lka 2 despite being in contention win league 2 games remaining, , highbury 3 went on 5 match unbeaten run secure 6th place (including 9-goal game new signing tom rich).


highbury 4 finished 8th in lka 3 lots of new players getting experience. new influx highbury have entered 5th team league 2016-17


2016–2017

rich hayward continued chair 1 more year. steph watson (née allen) continued in role of head coach, darryl light , rosie oxenbury becoming development coaches.


the club again trained in finsbury park in summer, having forged close link finsbury pub provided both location store equipment , post training social venue.


the petchey academy remained home both squad , club training, highbury 1 playing promotion league fixtures in trinity school of john whitgift due size restrictions.


this season marked first full season highbury 5 competing in london league 3.


highbury 1 finish 3rd in promo league, missing out in final game of league , 3rd in regional league, improvement on previous year.


highbury 2 finished 2nd in lka 2 after finishing equal on points rivals supernova 2 behind on head head results, , highbury 3 finished in 5th improving on 6th-place finish year before.


highbury 4 finished 2nd in lka 3b , promise pushing promotion next season, highbury 5 finishing 4th in same league.


2017–2018

james sipthrope (formerly development) elected chair. steph watson (née allen) on maternity leave beginning of season toby clarke (of trojans korfball club) coach squad time, darryl light , rosie oxenbury continuing development coaches. helen gilmore appointed club coach both 5th team , beginners, utilising experience new players having set essex blades (the korfball club of university of essex).


the club trained in finsbury park in summer , found success in many outdoor tournaments including winning in bristol, runners in leicester , coming 3rd in international tournament in nitra, in slovakia.


all teams continues train @ petchey academy expanded sessions development squad every week, meaning club running 3 sessions per week @ venue.
