Results Tasmanian state election, 1992



the result saw swing against labor party , greens in direction of liberal party. 7.19 percent swing liberals—almost double needed win government—assured groom have secure majority in next state parliament.


although greens suffered 3.90% swing against them, primary vote of 13.23% statewide above required quota election, , in bass , braddon depended on large flow of preferences hold seats.


the labor party polled poorly net loss of 2 members. party lost 4 members; michael weldon in braddon, former premier harry holgate , jim cox in bass, david crean in denison. party gained 2 members; gill james in bass , julian amos in denison. fall in labor vote attributed instability of labor-green accord, because of government spending cuts.


minor parties , independents collectively had increase in votes, far reaching required quota election.
