there several rugby union clubs in island including rugby academy under 18s , les quennevais rugby club. island s main side, jersey reds, enjoyed meteoric rise through english pyramid beginning in 2005 , culminating in promotion england s second level, rfu championship, 2012–13. team survived relegation scares in both of first 2 seasons in championship, finishing in final safe spot of 11th in both seasons.
