selection process

under constitution president selected in presidential election.


eligibility

the constitution sets following qualifications holding presidency:



if he/she citizen having been nominated candidate such office recognized political party or elected member of legislature.
no person has been twice elected office of president people, shall qualified thereafter elected such office people.

election

the president elected office in presidential election held nation wide term of maximum of 5 years. elected president can serve maximum of 2 terms, each term taking effect date of taking public oath of office elected term.


succession or vacancy

succession or vacancies in office of president may arise under several possible circumstances: death or incapacity, resignation , removal office. in case when president unable perform his/her duties, his/her powers temporarily transferred prime minister until confirmed parliment.
