savage s first solo single; swing, released in january 2005. hit crack australian singles chart in 2014 , peak @ number 1 5 weeks in new zealand singles chart. 3 months later, savage released debut solo album moonshine reached number 2 in new zealand album chart , included title track follow-up single. became bigger success previous single; spending 7 weeks @ number 1 on new zealand singles chart, , reaching top ten in australian singles chart. moonshine single become certified twice platinum in new zealand , gold in australia. third single album; don t know reached number 3 in new zealand singles chart , hit several weeks on australian singles chart. in 2007, swing featured in club scene united states film knocked , included on movie soundtrack album.


savage island era (2008–09)

following success of appearing in knocked , swing released single united states in 2008, , remix versions made american rappers soulja boy tell em , pitbull. upon re-release, swing reached number forty-five on billboard hot 100, re-entered new zealand singles charts peaking @ number twenty-three , appeared on american version of s call music! 29. end of january 2009, song had sold on 1.5 million units in united states alone. because of this; swing certified platinum single in united states.


in february 2009, savage released savage island, second studio album of solo career. release became second consecutive top-ten entry on new zealand album chart debuting @ number nine. album included moonshine previous album remix version of new zealand number-one hit not many. release featured 2 new singles wild out (chooo hooo) , hot fire. these songs became new zealand singles chart hits former becoming savage s fourth top-ten peaking song in national chart. savage appeared in issue of source magazine discuss lyrical meanings behind tracks of savage island following month. in october, savage performed savage island album track love islands, raise funds samoan tsunami relief effort. in december, video wild out (chooo hooo) named 1 of 5 most-watched youtube music videos in new zealand.


battle of century era (2010–12)

in 2010, savage featured in battle of century , nationwide tour across new zealand alongside internationally successful new zealand rapper scribe. same year, presents... tribal council album released. in 2012, savage featured on jade louise single vibrations theme song television series gc.


collaboration era (2013–present)

in 2013, swing remixed australian producer joel fletcher. song peaked @ number 2 on aria singles chart , has been certified quadruple platinum australian recording industry association (aria) shipments exceeding 280,000 copies. in 2014, savage added vocals timmy trumpet s song freaks . song peaked @ number 1 in new zealand , certified 2× platinum recorded music nz. in australia, peaked @ number 3 , certified 5× platinum aria. reached top 5 in finland , won highest selling single @ 2015 new zealand music awards.


in 2015, savage teamed kronic (dj) , far east movement on push . track featured in trailer fast , furious eighth installment fate of furious . trailer premiered during super bowl li.
