rügen airport located 8 km bergen. after wende, first sightseeing flights on island offered on former agricultural airfield. in may 1993, first tarmac runway inaugurated. since then, charter flights berlin, hamburg , other cities in europe have been available.


the baltic sea airport stralsund offers flights , region of western pomerania. larger rostock–laage airport offers regular international destinations.
