history
early years (2004–2005)

the band formed part of music project university course in 2004. before formation of band, members had never met, except bassist ryan clown drever , frontman stoke, lived together. band made irrational decision drop out of university , commit short-lived new project, drive-by argument.


the band released 2 show-only eps during course of 2005, called ep1 , december demos/dragon ep.


one records/sex lines expensive comedy (2005–2006)

in late 2005, band signed 1 single deal glasgow label 1 records, releasing first limited edition single sex lines expensive comedy on 24 october 2005. song gained band small following, , used regularly @ madison square garden on warm-up soundtrack national hockey league s new york rangers. used once on american crime drama cold case.


lizard king records (2006)

in 2006, band signed indie label lizard king records. band received attention when secured supporting position 2 dates of panic! @ disco s 2006 uk tour. first date @ wolverhampton civic hall (22 august 2006) , second @ brixton academy (22 october 2006).


album , split (2006–2009)

in late 2006, after bout of touring, band went studio , recorded self-titled debut studio album, drive-by argument, designated release in september 2007. after several delays in release of album, released following year via download on 12 may 2008. on 5 march 2007, band released limited edition vinyl/download single called sega method . shortly before that, band began first major solo tour promote new single , forthcoming album. in summer, band released re-recorded version of sex lines expensive comedy second album single release on 25 june 2007.


the band released third album single dance no-one s watching on 28 april 2008. far, has been well-received single drive-by argument, securing place on mtv2 myspace chart several weeks during april , may 2008.


they released album on 19 march 2008. band announced splitting on 23 february 2009 through blog post on myspace profile. 5 members, however, had gone on form new band called atlas skye, taking more of pop rock approach.


after split of atlas skye, each member of band joined or formed local acts in glasgow. these bands midnight lion (lewis , stoke), no island (ryan , stuart) , mouse ate cat (colins project brian dykeenies).
