the corsa e debuted @ 2014 paris motor show. basic chassis architecture of fifth generation corsa same predecessor’s, exterior , interior dimensions identical, give or take few millimetres, every exterior panel new. led brit mark adams, opel’s design team has taken various style cues brand’s latest models , distilled them supermini shape.


interior space stayed same, has 285 litre boot, every part of instrument panel , dashboard new. of exterior sheet metal (except roof) has been revised, underlying chassis , body structure (especially glasshouse) carried on corsa d.


intellilink infotainment system can connected apple or android smartphones via usb or bluetooth. newest iteration of mirror phone onto touchscreen, allowing use things google maps or spotify through voice command, use siri voice control.


a reinforced, stiffer front sub frame , new front suspension geometry, plus new speed-sensitive electric power steering system, have been designed sharpen handling , provide more front-end bite. 2 types of suspension – comfort , sport – offered.


it has been revealed new corsa (likely named corsa f) released in 2018, corsa e finishing production year.




























corsa opc/vxr

in february 2015, opel introduced opc version of corsa e. compared previous generation model, power output has increased 15ps 207ps (204 bhp) 1.6 turbo engine, maximum torque of 245 nm (181 lb-ft) between 1900 , 5800 rpm. overboost function increases torque 280nm (206 lb-ft) when needed. result, corsa opc able sprint 0 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds , reach maximum speed of 230 km/h (143 mph).


the corsa opc features sports chassis frequency selective damping (fsd) technology, enables damping forces adapt frequency of car balance sportiness comfort. suspension lowered 10mm (0.39 in) compared standard corsa models, , car gets optimised steering system more direct , precise reactions. opc worked on brakes, adding 308mm discs on front axle.


opel offers corsa opc performance package, includes mechanical multi-disc differential lock made drexler, 18 inch wheels michelin tires , more athletic chassis set up. package brings brembo high performance braking system 330mm braking discs on front axle.


styling wise, corsa opc/vxr more aggressive body kits new bumpers, aluminium frames fog lights, small scoop in hood, big roof spoiler , twin pipe remus exhaust diffuser. inside, recaro performance seats take centre stage, other upgrades including flat bottomed leather steering wheel, opc gear knob , sports pedals along, opc design instruments.


engines

under bonnet, new 1.0 3 cylinder ecotec engine – direct injection turbo offer 90 ps or 115 ps – both giving 170nm of torque – 6 speed manual box, while new 6 speed auto optional on selected engines. start/stop tech standard and, in 3 door guise, lower powered model can hit sub-100g/km.


the entry level engine 70 ps 1.2 litre petrol, while turbo , non turbo 1.4s offer 100 ps , 90 ps respectively. 1.3 cdti continue 75ps, hitting little 85g/km co2 , capable of 3,2l/100 km. ecoflex version available launch, too, target co2 emissions of under 85g/km.
