this bridge carries rutland road (b6070) on river don. in 1800s, bridge commonly known neepsend bridge. in great sheffield flood of 1864, neepsend bridge managed withstand onslaught although large amount of debris piled against it. 3 elliptical arches built in 1854, although parapet later, had rebuilt following damage sustained during flood.
