during 1970s, wigginton taught painting , sculpture @ cornish school of arts in seattle. paintings , sculptures period , afterward held in numerous private , public collections, including oakland museum of california, portland art museum, portland, oregon, seattle art museum, museum of contemporary crafts, portland, oregon, center folk art , contemporary crafts, san francisco, rainer bank collection, seattle, , museum of northwest art, la conner, washington.


reviewing source of power, 1981 exhibit @ quint gallery in la jolla, california, robert mcdonald wrote in artweek series consisted of “twelve works combining painting , sculpture, “visual metaphors physical , spiritual power, nature , man. . . . paintings abstract landscapes, skyscapes, or atmospheres. sculptural forms . . . represent both man-made, architectural forms . . . , natural, topographic features, such mountains , oceans. installed @ eye level, pieces small worlds exploration.” elise miller, reviewing source of power in los angeles times, noted “the multifaceted process , sheer beauty of wigginton’s art work intriguing” , “pieces reward on many levels. more time taken, more understood.” thematically, miller observed focus on “power on death, power create, spiritual power, , power energy, land, sun, water, wind, atom.” “rather define sources” of power, miller wrote, “wigginton seeks expose human concepts sources, if compassionate observer of time , space, sitting on edge of universe.”


in 2002, wigginton began working @ mountain studio in cascadel woods, north fork, california. there, began new series of ethereal paintings on canvas , aluminum panels.
