as 1 of smaller oxford colleges, exeter has reputation having close-knit student body. first-year undergraduates housed on-site in college’s turl st. site, , there dedicated graduate accommodation college on iffley road.


as university’s fourth oldest college, emphasis placed on tradition, during special occasions such annual burns night, dinner in honour of scottish poet robert burns, when traditional meal of haggis served. college’s ties williams college in united states, international composition of mcr makes annual thanksgiving dinner popular occasion.

exeter has mixed-voice choir, made of 24 singers, administered, conducted , accompanied solely undergraduate organ scholars. college in either oxford or cambridge choir, run entirely organ scholar, sings 3 services week, , has been heard on number of broadcasts bbc radio 4 s daily service. college offers choral , parry–wood organ scholarships, , former organ scholars include robert sharpe (director of music, york minster), christopher herrick (international concert organist , former organist, westminster abbey), , david trendell (director of music, king s college london), current directors of music @ rugby, charterhouse, sherborne, , latymer upper schools.
