in 1994, slayer released divine intervention, band s first record drummer bostaph. album featured songs reinhard heydrich, architect of holocaust, , jeffrey dahmer, american serial killer , sex offender. other themes included murder, evils of church, , lengths governments go wield power, araya s interest in serial killers inspired of content of lyrics.


slayer geared world tour in 1995, openers biohazard , machine head. video of concert footage, live intrusion released, featuring joint cover of venom s witching hour machine head. following tour, slayer billed third @ 1995 monsters of rock festival, headlined metallica. in 1996, undisputed attitude, album of punk covers, released. band covered songs minor threat, t.s.o.l., d.r.i., d.i., verbal abuse, dr. know , stooges. album featured 3 original tracks, gemini, can t stand you, ddamm ; latter 2 written hanneman in 1984–1985 side project entitled pap smear. bostaph left slayer shortly after album s recording work on own project, truth seafood. bostaph s departure, slayer recruited testament drummer jon dette, , headlined 1996 ozzfest alongside ozzy osbourne, danzig, biohazard, sepultura, , fear factory. dette fired after year, due fallout band members; bostaph returned continue tour.
