baseball

baseball becoming increasingly popular in western australia. baseball wa governing body of baseball in western australia , oversees organization of sport in area. highest level of play in australia australian baseball league (abl) , has team in western australia, perth heat. heat won inaugural championship during 2010-2011 season. team plays @ barbagallo ballpark.


lacrosse

in 2002, perth hosted world lacrosse games, included world lacrosse championships (won united states), australian youth lacrosse championship, masters (35+ year old), grandmasters (45+), , international open championships.


motorsport

motorsport popular in western australia numerous national , international events being held.


rally australia, part of world rally championship (wrc) held each year on gravel roads in south-west jarrah forests special stages held in central perth @ either gloucester park or on langley park. recognised 1 of best rallies internationally , attracted thousands of overseas tourists each year. there has been large push have event returned western australia, of 2016 there has not been of required support state government. final running of event in wa occurred in october 2006.


the first round of australian rally championship held yearly in forests near nannup.


the western australian rally championship held throughout south west between march , november. championship host of longest running rallies in world , has seen increasing numbers of both competitors , spectators each year.


targa west held near perth , toodyay yearly , attracts large crowds. similar event targa south west held yearly in southwest towns of pemberton , manjimup.


the barbagallo raceway hosts perth 360, v8 supercars round first held in 1973.


rowing/kayaking

the champion lakes regatta centre south of perth includes 2,000 metre buoyed racing course used rowing, kayaking , dragon boat racing.


perth home annual avon descent whitewater event.


the psa head of river rowing event held each year.


sailing

a mediterranean climate reliable fresh winds create ideal conditions sailing, both off coast in indian ocean , in swan river.


perth hosted isaf sailing world championships @ fremantle in 2011.


there numerous yacht clubs in perth , regional centres.


water polo

a number of decorated international players have come perth. tom hoad cup held each december.
