from west east, golden highway runs through dunedoo – concurrent castlereagh highway approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) – through merriwa, sandy hollow, denman, jerrys plains , mount thorley, joining new england highway @ belford, south of singleton. bylong valley way turns off golden highway 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of sandy hollow. golden highway , putty road concurrent around 2 kilometres (1.2 mi), east of mount thorley industrial estate near singleton. highway turns east onto mitchell s line of road while putty road continues singleton.


the golden highway provides low crossing of great dividing range. taking through hunter region , golden west new south wales.
