his feature directorial debut, want eat cheese (which wrote), premiered favorable reviews @ 2006 tribeca film festival. opened in september 2007. film co-starred sarah silverman , bonnie hunt.


in 2006, garlin directed filthy world, one-man show performed director john waters. voice actor in wall-e, animated film pixar released june 27, 2008, captain of axiom spaceship. garlin executive produced documentary finding vivian maier (2013).


in 2013, garlin directed second film, dealin idiots, inspired experiences 2 sons in little league. entire movie improvised.
