in february 2007, seeing social evolutions problems in israel, gaydamak founded party devoted socio-economic issues, named social justice. although organization established social movement, said become political party if circumstances warranted it. in late 2007, party contemplated taking part in 2008 municipal elections.


gaydamak ran mayor of jerusalem in november 2008, party won no seats on city council. during campaign, gaydamak courted east jerusalem palestinian vote. gaydamak approached grand mufti of jerusalem, muhammad ahmad hussein, palestinian political figures , media, , came away close endorsement 1 hope for.
