chhatari


chattri


a chattri built scindia rulers. structure has 2 main cenotaphs. 1 shown in picture older 1 dedicated dowager queen maharani sakhya raje scindia while 1 built on opposite side newer 1 dedicated son madho rao scindia, grandfather of former railway minister of india madhavrao scindia.


both cenotaphs surrounded mughal gardens , have streak of fountains between them.


chhatari (memorial or cenotaph) made of ornate marble fine example of workmanship.


madhav national park


the madhav national park surrounds sakhya sagar lake. has variety of wild animals , birds. used have significant number of tigers these have vanished due poor maintenance , transference of tigers other national parks.


george castle


george castle stands on highest point of national park. built george jivajirao scindia overnight stay tiger shooting british king george v while pass way during visit india in 1911. however, king shot tiger on way , did not stop @ castle.


madhav vilas palace


madhav vilas palace official residence of scindias during summer. situated in heart of city , surrounded dense gardens , forest.


it has been converted training centre of intelligence bureau of india giving city distinction of being among few cities in country have ib training centre.


tatya tope memorial


tatya tope, leader of indian rebellion of 1857 , close aide of rani of jhansi, publicly hanged on 18 april 1859 peepal tree. memorial , statue of tatya tope has been erected @ site.
