a four-lane 6 lane expressway horseshoe bay hope runs through chilliwack on lower mainland section of trans-canada highway.


the agassiz-rosedale highway north-south route in eastern part of chilliwack acts last connection between highways 1 , 7 eastbound before hope, , main access resort village of harrison hot springs. highway first opened in 1953, going between yale road in rosedale , highway 7, ferry across fraser river. bridge replaced ferry in 1956. when section of highway 1 east of chilliwack opened in 1961, highway 9 extended south junction new highway 1 alignment, replaced yale road main route between chilliwack , hope.
