history
plans

before 50s of 20th century was in city today chodov field. after joining chodov prague in 1968, construction of the southern city was started. on july 12, 1971 the d1 motorway was completed and on 7 november 1980 metro station budovatelů (today chodov ) was opened. a new bus terminal built there. since 1979 construction of adjoining settlements of jižní město ii has begun.


at time, first plans construction of large area created, included, example, building fifteen-story hotels . at end of 1980s, however, these plans met , the růže shopping center was begun (it demolished later in 2015). it completed after the 1991 revolution. at same time, devětsil cultural house @ roztylská street began built, part of foundation built. due change of original socialist concept , lack of finance, construction stopped. until 2004, in area of today s center, besides these bases, there undeveloped area.

it building despite protests local citizens started in may 2004. it running relatively fast, has aggravated surrounding environment increased noise, dirt , dustiness. often worked overnight. the problem relocation of sidewalks in neighborhood prolonged way metro , shopping. the construction included total reconstruction of parts of u kunratického lesa, roztylská, pod chodov , brněnská (d1 motorway), meant repair of road surfaces , preparation of branches planned parking lots. a new downhill , ramp on the d1 motorway (junction pod chodov street) was built.

the overground parts of chodov metro station rebuilt. the old shelters , backgrounds for 1980s were gradually dismantled , replaced new outputs, corresponded management of main pavements after completion of center. instead, took original decoration upper area of station. the symbol of chodov metro station – statue of builder – not removed. it went through thorough restaurant , in 2006 she station again. the entire bridge has been reconstructed on d1 motorway.


several companies, especially skanska and apb plzeň, participated in own construction. the investor of construction the french company unibail-rodamco, the developer of development. about 4 billion crowns were invested in construction. the total area 55 500m, construction lasted 19 months. the complex designed german architectural studio obermeyer helika.


open 2005 


the opening ceremony took place on november 9, 2005. the mayor of prague, pavel bém, mayor of prague 11, marta Šorfová, and many others. from in morning, large number of people pushing in front of entrances wanted buy goods various promotional offers.

in second half of 2014, office space built, unibail-rodamco czech republic headquarters moved to. several retail outlets created.


2015-2017

since opening in 2005, success further expansion of complex, took place between 2015 , 2017. first, the old shopping centre růže , temporary parking lot of chodov center were demolished @ beginning of 2015, area later built. in 2016, construction of new part of complex started, while existing premises reconstructed. the developer unibail-rodamco invested 4.4 billion crowns renovation/expansion, making 1 of country s largest investments in retail projects.


on october 11, 2017, new section opened, expanding complex one-third. over 40,000 m² of commercial space added existing 58,600 m², giving center total area of 102.266 m². the expansion includes new food court, called grand kitchen , , largest branch of cinema city chain featuring total of 18 cinemas total area of 5,783 m², including vip screening room , 4dx cinema. expansion includes sauna world, relaxation zones, children s corners , designer gallery presenting czech , foreign design brands. the appearance of building different, more colorful , has more complex architectural elements. at time of opening, retail units leased.


in 2017 centrum chodov won best of realty competition in category of shopping malls in czech republic.
